She earned her BS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and her MD from NYU School of Medicine, completing her OB/GYN residency at Tripler Army Medical Center. She previously served as a U.S. Army physician for 12 years, including a deployment to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004.
